Manual test stand

ValuTest-L – Basic Lever

The ValuTest-L test stand is a lever-operated test stand featuring a crosshead which is fixed to a coarse leadscrew.

The crosshead is then roughly positioned to the desired height. A rack-and-pinion, with a bracket to hold a force gauge, is attached to the crosshead and its movement is controlled by a lever up to a maximum of 47mm. Designed to apply basic tensile and compressive forces up to 500 N (110 lbf ).

It is a low-cost test stand designed for elementary tests. Not recommended for applications requiring precise measurement of crosshead movement.

Choose from the range of Mecmesin digital force gauges to select the most appropriate instrument to measure the load.

From the office to the factory floor and from health assessment facilities to surveyor practices, everyone is affected by manual handling to a greater or lesser extent, with the potential to create serious ergonomic hazards impacting those involved. Mecmesin manual handling kits offer versatility and precision measurement for a wide range of applications, eliminating the subjective nature of testing by providing clear, objective, accurate results.

Advanced Manual Handling Kit

The Advanced Manual Handling Kits measure push, pull and twisting efforts in order to evaluate the ergonomic impact of any type of manual handling forces or torques. 1000 N and 2500  versions are available.

The complete kit includes a gripping cradle and the essential accessories to connect the AFG gauge to the object being handled in order to measure the loading accurately. It can also recognise data from optional sensors to measure more specific physiological activities.

Basic Manual Handling Kit

The Basic Manual Handling Kit measures push and pull efforts to enable the ergonomic evaluation manual handling forces up to 2500 N.

The complete kit includes a gripping cradle and the essential accessories to connect the BFG gauge to the object being handled in order to measure the loading accurately.

Mechanical force gauges provide a basic and low-cost alternative to digital gauges for simple force measurement applications.

Tension, or compression, is indicated by a needle on a dial with a peak-hold function to lock the needle in place for taking maximum load readings.

All models are supplied in a portable carry case with a full set of accessories that includes:

  • chisel point
  • compression plate
  • cone point
  • extension rod
  • inverse chisel point
  • test hook

Each gauge comes with its own traceable calibration certificate.

Simple Analogue

The SL range of mechanical force gauges features five models, from 8 N to 440 N. Each has an accuracy of ±2% of full scale, with the dial graduated in both Newtons (N) and pounds (lbf).

With no need for batteries, mechanical force gauges are intrinsically safe for ‘no spark’ environments.

A compact design makes it easy to store when not in use.

Low-cost Analogue

Low-cost analogue force gauges are best suited for occasional simple measurement of tension and compression, up to 30 kgf (60 lbf).

Used as a handheld instrument with no need for a battery, these mechanical gauges are small and easily carried for use in a variety of simple applications and outdoor environments.

Gram Gauge

Affordable and easy-to-use, mechanical gram gauges offer a quick and easy solution for measuring very low forces between 1 and 1000 grams-force.

Each gram gauge has a needle with slave pointer for simple peak-hold function, making them suitable for very basic tension and compression tests.

The DGD range of gram gauges features seven models, covering forces from 5 gf up to 1000 gf.
